Access to Air & Interstates:

Jefferson County TN is ideally located in East Tennessee within a day's drive of two thirds of the United States population. We are blessed to have Interstate 40 and 81 meet in our county and we have five interstate exits located within Jefferson County.  We are ideally situated within an hours drive of three airports: McGhee Tyson airport is in Knoxville, the Tri-Cities Regional airport in Blountville, and the commercial airport in Asheville, North Carolina.

McGhee Tyson Airport is the premier air facility in East Tennessee. Daily, the airport handles commercial airline, air cargo, military aviation and general aviation air traffic. With parallel 9,000 feet runways, McGhee Tyson Airport can accommodate any size aircraft in today's inventory.  The Tennessee Air National Guard's 134th Air Refueling Group operates out of McGhee Tyson Airport, and this facility also provides a twenty-one-acre facility for Federal Express, UPS and Airborne Express.

Jefferson County is within a 45 minute drive of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, America's most visited National Park. We are also bordered by two TVA lakes: Douglas Lake and Cherokee Lake.

Railways:

This property is situated in close proximity to Railway as shown in the diagram below.  Locomotive power is the most fuel efficient means to transport goods in North America, and this fuel efficiency minimizes the effect railroad transportation has on greenhouse gases.  Because railroads are, on average, three or more times more fuel efficient than trucks on a ton-mile basis, railroads have a smaller carbon footprint. Every ton-mile of freight that moves by rail instead of truck reduces greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds or more.

According to Environmental Protection Agency data, freight railroads account for just 2 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions from transportation sources and well under 1 percent of greenhouse gas emissions from all sources.  Based on data from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, for each 1 percent of long-haul freight currently moving by truck that moved by rail instead, fuel savings in the U.S. would be approximately 111 million gallons per year, and annual greenhouse gas emissions would fall by 1.2 million tons.

Trucking:
Over the Road transportation is also readily available for domestic and international shipping to/from this location with vast Interstate and highway access. This location also offers local offices for Old Dominion Freight, Land-Air Transport headquarters just 20 miles east, and a new $80 million facility for Crete Carriers just 60 miles west along with Averitt Express in Knoxville.

With an excellent transportation infrastructure, a growing and trainable workforce, a pro-business climate and favorable operating costs the Knoxville region of East Tennessee provides an exceptional location for distribution and warehousing.
